For a munificent psychedelic meditation (is there any other kind?) on our country’s treatment of animals and its own damn self, I recommend Nao Bustamante’s video installation Untitled # 1, (from the series Earth People 2507). Viewable Sundays 12-5pm, and by appointment through May 25th, 2008 at [ 2nd floor projects ]. Generous indeed. A central motif is the fate of the Buffalo and its resurrection as a mutated brown and black poodle mix, FuFu. A must for Americans, Art Lovers and Animal Fools. How’s that for awesome alliteration? (Upcoming: a publication with an essay by Glen Helfand accompanies the exhibition).
